I love living in a small town!

I took a trip to a local farmer who sells directly from his garden and I had to share the experience!

He had this farm cat that meows constantly for attention, which was cute.

the ground was too hot to walk barefoot, so the shoes stayed on, it was such an amazing view though. He had rows and rows of veggies growing. Plus a couple berry bushes that were still in the early stages of blooming.

To me the best part was the garden that was in the shade. I was able to walk around and just lose myself. forget everything that was going on and be present in that very moment.

While walking in the shade I actually found a cherry tree, I had never seen one before so was completely surprised by it. When I asked the farmer how much they were he chuckled and replied ” you pick them, you can have them” My heart soared at the opportunity, living in the city my whole life I have never had the opportunity to pick my own fruit before. He brought me out a ladder and I spent the next hour climbing the tree and picking cherries. It honestly was the best evening ever! I picked enough to bring some to him, but when I told him I brought some for him he smiled and said ” we have a huge bag of cherries in our fridge, you keep them” I was so excited, until I remembered I would be having to clean them all myself (which wasn’t that bad.)

My cherries all washed and cleaned and ready to eat.

These cherries were honestly the best I have ever had! If you ever find yourself in the area, you should definitely go and check out this farm. You might be lucky enough and get some cherries yourself, of course if the birds haven’t taken them all by that point. Have a great week everyone!
